happy valentine's day!

Okay, today is valentine's day, so I thought I'd give a little love verse. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the sappy, generic love: cute puppies, Portillo's chocolate cake, that favorite movie, a pretty sweater....that we forget what real love is. First Corinthians has a whole chapter on love, but I'd like to quote just 2 verses: 6 & 7. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Wow! Maybe, before we start throwing around the "L" word, we should revisit the 13th chapter of 1st Corinthians. And, because God has called us to love our neighbors as ourselves, we should remind ourselves what He meant by love our neighbors.

Happy Valentine's Day! If, for some reason, this day is a difficult one for you (you know who you are)...I pray that God will put His arms around you and help you get through. After all, God wants to be your Valentine, He loves you, and I mean really loves you, more than anyone else does. If He gave you a conversation heart, I think it would say, "Be mine."

What's wrong with Portillos chocolate cake?? :)

Thank you for the reminder about I Corinthians 13. I re-read it this morning and am inspired to make better love choices....to try to love the way God wants me to love!

I was thinking exactly what Glenda was: What's wrong with Portillo's????
But since you moved on to other points, I'll just say: thanks for the reminder of WHO and WHAT we are called to be in Christ.
