Today was center day at school for Jaxon.
I volunteer to help in his classroom every other Wednesday for centers.
As we left his school today, I just smiled and realized how blessed I am to be able to volunteer for his class.
My mom was never able to volunteer for any classroom activities when I was in grade school. She worked, because she had to. My dream was to be able to stay home with my children when they were young. I wanted to take care of them when they stayed home sick from school. I wanted to help out with parties, chaperon for class trips, and volunteer for classroom help. Please don't think that I'm bitter, I totally know that my mom did what she could...she packed the BEST field trip lunches, she signed every form on time, and she attended every music concert...she was even able to do my hair for one of my school pictures - 4th grade! As I grew up, my mom worked her way out of the bindery (where she MADE me work the day I turned 18 to earn money for college-I so totally appreciate her) into an office job that made her more available to Duane and I.
Anyway...I am so thankful to be able to volunteer for Jaxon's class. Jason, thank you so much for allowing me and supporting me staying at home with our children. You are so awesome! You make me feel so appreciated, valued, and loved. (That surprise Frap today was a clear sign of your appreciation! You are so thoughtful!) Mom, thank you for expecting me to go to college and helping me get there! Thank you for all the times you helped us by watching Ky, so I could go to class. Thank you for believing that I could do it. And, Sue, thank you for hanging out with Kennedy while I'm at Jaxon's school. I'm glad you're so willing to help.
I love my life.
