3 words

I was watching icaught the other night. At the end of the show, they asked for people to send in three words to describe their week. Some of the three word phrases were moving, some funny, but all meaningful to someone. So, inspired by the show, Jason and I decided to come up with 3 words to describe our week. This is mine:

I finally set the date!

As I sit in the stands and listen to fans degrade my husband's coaching, I will remember it's about more than football.

As I take care of the house, mow the grass, change the oil in the car because my husband is at practice, I will remember it's about more than football.

As I see how much he invests his time, his prayers, and his heart into this program and the players it involves, I will remember it's about more than football.

As he answers his phone for the tenth time on his day off to talk with a coach or a player, I will remember it's about more than football.

Thanks, Mom, for helping me find my 3 words...I just might keep them with me during games.

Dana, you are soooo right! Your three words are great reminders.

I think You guys are wonderful friends, confidants, examples of Christ-likeness, parents, and on and on...

Be encouraged by your three words. They are truth.

I can sympathize with what you're feeling. Same things happen with Ronnie and youth ministry. You don't always get your day off and it's never a 9-5 job and we don't expect it to be. But, it's hard on the wife at times when dad isn't home. Our saying has always been, "It's part of the ministry!" And yes, it is about more than youth ministry, it's about affecting teenagers life and seeing them change and go after God. You don't always see it when you want to, but you never know the impact you're making on someone else's life down the road!
