happy anniversary

Happy Anniversary to us! Jason and I met in high school. You know, the whole "captain of the football team/captain of the cheerleading squad thing." But, we didn't "go out" in high school. Yeah, we went on a couple of dates, went to our senior proms together (he was a year older than me), but we never dated..not until I graduated. He was so fun. I was in love with him ever since I met him...

Then one day he proposed. My life has never been the same. I really didn't know what I was getting into. But, I'm glad I said yes!

I've thought about the life we have been through until now, and how that might have changed our vows a bit.

So here go the words that I was really meaning to say, but didn't realize at the time...

through college exams and graduations. through the pregnancies and births of our 3 children. (who knew I would have the best labor coach in the world at my side?!) through the purchase and remodeling of 3 homes. through 9 football seasons, preseasons, and off-seasons. (there really is no off-season!) through the building of our pool. (which was a lot harder than building our house!) through re-locating our family 4 times. through sitting in the bleachers on friday nights with a 4 year old and an infant. then sitting on the bleachers on friday nights with a 6 year old, 2 year old, and an infant. through one of our children's surgeries. through the death of my grandma and my dad. through the valleys that God has led us. and the mountain tops. through the miracles of God's provision. and the testing of our faith. through allergies and a broken leg (from playing football...who does that with a wife and kid?!?) through being youth leaders and being in the band together.

through life. and all the while, making Christ the center of our marriage. letting Him lead us. 13 years...13 great years...
I can't imagine going through life with anyone else by my side.
