season opener

Here we go with football season #10. I am a coach's wife. Part of that small population. I have sat in the stands for many, many games...minus 3 for extreme circumstances. My first season I had a 3 year old by my side and a baby inside. I have gone to games in shorts and to games in layers and layers of clothing. I have carried my babies into the stands bundled up in their infant carriers. I have made it through the seasons with toddlers (which is no easy task, might I say...) I have gone to games watching not much of the game, but just wanting to be there for Jason. I have packed mittens, hats, blankets, ponchos, coats, snacks, suckers, umbrellas, and baby wipes x3...even to August games. I, unfortunately, probably know more about what to pack for the game, than about the game itself.

We have watched games in sun, fog, rain, and snow.

I'd just like to say that I don't think I ever had to do it alone, though. Jason's parents have made it to probably as many games as I have (even in Johnsburg!). My parents have also been pretty good about coming.

As the kids get older, I'm able to see more of the game. I'm learning more and more about the game of football each year, but now, I'm learning it from my son. This year, I am giving up my son and my husband to the field. Jax gets to be the ball boy. He is so excited.

I love this game, and I think Jason's a great coach of some really awesome young men. I'm excited for this season!

Here we go...
