things have changed

crazy things I remember from my childhood:

getting up to change the channel on TV. I was voted the channel changer, because I was one of the youngest.

woody woodpecker.

walking to school. walking home from school. rain, sleet, and snow.

McDonald's sandwiches in styrofoam containers. Those containers were perfect. Sandwich on one side, fries on the other.

a typewriter. we didn't get a computer until I was in junior high.

punky brewster. I loved that show.

no cell phones. we were where we were supposed to be when we were supposed to be there. and, I had to come home to check in.

no answering machine. no call waiting. if we missed a call, we missed a call.

spam. yes. we ate it. occasionally.

half shirts. I could wear them then...not so much now.

aquanet.

and, I remember the day we got a VCR. so exciting.

my kids just don't understand. :)

I loved Punky Brewster. Wonder what she's doing now... Mark and I went to an 80s themed birthday party last weekend. I cut out the collar of a big sweatshirt and turned it inside out over a tank top. Oh, and I found an old BANANA CLIP to put in my hair!! It was totally rad.

ok...admit it, you rolled your pants too (did you use a penny?)! I remember spending waaaay to much time trying to make sure the roll on each pant leg was exactly the same.

I also scrunched my socks - typically I had on two pair of different colors... I was into the whole "layer" effect!

I also had hypercolor tees - remember those??

fun post!
