lately

We had a great time celebrating Easter this weekend, but I haven't downloaded any pictures yet.

Yesterday was the last family gathering we'll have at my Dad's and Joyce's. The house will be sold soon. It's a new chapter. It's change. It's moving forward. I'm sort of sad about it.

I have this Easter memory from last year of my dad wearing rabbit ears. It's something that he really couldn't do anything about... so, when they were put on his head, he had to keep them there. He took it well... I saw him smiling. My girls have the picture of him wearing them. I find myself smiling whenever I see it. So, this year was a crazy rabbit ear year. At school, the principal was walking around wearing them on Thursday. Then, that night I went to practice, and there was someone else wearing them. I can't remember any other year when I saw people - adults- actually wearing rabbit years. And, this year, I saw 2 people that I never would've expected. What's up with that?

We got some new tires for our van today. Those Illinois potholes are crazy... you hit one, then end up replacing your tires. But, I can be thankful that they aren't as bad as the potholes in Liberia or Haiti. And, I can be thankful that our rim wasn't damaged. And, I can be thankful that the tire didn't blow-out while I was driving. I can be thankful that we had the money to get new tires.

I enjoyed the day with my husband. He had the day off, so we hung out all day. I'm thankful for days like this.
