Jason pushes me to do things that I wouldn't ordinarily do.
For instance, I met Mike Alstott one time. It was when Mike played at Purdue. We had been in town for some football something, and Jason approached him and introduced himself to Mike as Mike was walking to his car after practice.
I've also met Pat Fitzgerald (the head coach at Northwestern) because of Jason. Timid me would have just headed for the stands and found my seat at the Northwestern game. However, I had Jason with me, so we started touring the football facility and ran into Pat. It was before he was the head coach, but it was still intimidating to me.
He isn't intimidated by stuff like that. He's not really a social person, but he won't let an opportunity pass.
I'm always the one standing behind the curtain. He's always the one coaxing me to be brave and "come on out." Make sense?
I am the reserved one. And, as much as I am intimidated by lots of things, I appreciate when he pulls me out of my shell.
So, thanks Jason, for not standing backstage with me, but for encouraging me to come out from behind the curtains.
