After 3 children, I've finally figured at least one thing out. For a section in Kennedy's spelling homework packet, she has to alphabetize her spelling list. When Jaxon was doing this, we'd work through the list, writing our words on his homework paper as we went, only to get to the last word and realize we left an "E" word out. We'd frantically erase the entire list, moving most of the words down a blank to fit the left out word in.
Well, let me tell you what I do now to save that extra work. I cut post-it notes into fourths, write the spelling word on each one, then work with Kennedy to put the words in order. We don't write any words on her paper until we have arranged and, sometimes rearranged, her words in ABC order. Then, when we're sure we're right, she writes her words on her paper.
I love this method! It allows for her to really figure it out without harm and without wasted time.
