The last time I did this:
was about 5 years ago,
so I knew it was time for a fresh coat of paint.
I really don't consider paint fresh, though.
It really stinks.
Spring air blowing through the windows is fresh.
The smell of a clean floor is fresh.
Clothes drying on a clothesline in the sun is fresh.
Paint is not.
Maybe I should say a new coat of paint.
I consider painting strengthening the walls.
There are some walls in my house that are really strong.
Others, not so much, but I'm working on it.
I went with a color in between the brown that was on the walls and the gray that I tried out to see if I could handle gray. I was shooting for a cooler color than the warm taupe. I really don't even know what to call the previous color, so I'll stick with taupe. Because I was shooting for a color in between the two colors previously mentioned, I was happy to see this:
It's my very own optical illusion.
This is what the walls looked like after I trimmed out the walls in the new color.
On the taupe wall, the new color looks gray.
On the gray wall, the new color looks taupe-y.
The paint on the edges is the same color. Seriously, it is!
I am pleased to say that it is finished!
It's quite a task, but I'm glad I did it and I'm glad it's done!
