i survived a preteen slumber party!

Now, if I can just survive Ky's preteen year!

Ky had 3 friends sleep over for her birthday. Quite wise to limit it to such a small number. They had plenty of fun...we're so thankful for the extra basement space...such fun to decorate, too! Their night consisted of swimming, junk food, music, make-up, games, and sleep? Yep, they slept.

I, however, was up most of the night with Kennedy. (She was in pain from an earache...from an excess of pool water, I think. At least that's what I treated her for!)

Junior high girls are a different sort. When she has her friends around, I realize how not so crazy my daughter is. She's actually pretty normal...normal for a junior high girl, that is.

So, I've learned that junior high girls don't really eat for the enjoyment...I mean, how can you enjoy flaming hot cheetos, sour straws, and chocolate skittles? Oh well, here's to the beginning of many things I will not understand about my preteen. And, here's to loving her no matter what.
