a quick trip

Just thought I'd post about the cool weekend we just had. I know, I know, another weekend is almost about to begin. I just haven't had much time to post.

On Saturday, Jason and I had a very cool opportunity. Two of his former players played college football against each other. The game was in Marquette, Michigan. Yep, in the U.P. In a dome. Nice.

We couldn't pass this opportunity up, so we left Friday morning, drove for 7 hours, then stopped for the night. We finished the last hour of the 8 hour drive on Saturday morning.

We enjoyed watching the game, and, for the first time that I'm aware of, Jason keyed in on just 2 players. #70 for Northern Michigan - Jack from Johnsburg and #56 for Grand Valley State - Brandon from Joliet. Usually, he watches games with a wide lens. This time he was zooming in.

I was so proud of not only Jack and Brandon for working so hard to play college football, but also for my husband. You see, Jason doesn't take a break once the season ends. He just switches gears. His job in the off-season consists of weight-training, yes, but also getting his players plugged in to colleges. He loved playing ball after high school and wants to see every capable player playing college ball, so he works his tail off to get his players into college. You can see why this picture means so much to him.

I'm so proud of my husband. He's a great husband, father, teacher, leader, supporter, and encourager. And, I'm glad he could have this day.
