my birthday

I was looking through pictures to see if I had any that would make an interesting post, and I ran across pictures from my birthday. I realized that I never posted about my amazing day.

First, we went to church, then came home, grabbed some lunch, and headed to the baseball field for Jaxon's game. Oh, but before we left, Jason through some candles onto a DQ ice cream cake (my favorite!!) and led the quartet in singing "Happy Birthday" to me. Jim (my awesome father-in-law) came for the day, because he so graciously watched our kids, so that Jason's plans for my day could be fulfilled.

After Jaxon's first game, Jason and I left for our night out. (He revealed only 1 plan at a time for the entire evening - which kept me wondering just what in the world he was up to.)

First stop: dinner. My choice. Of course, I chose Red Lobster for their delicious coconut shrimp!

Second stop: dessert. Again, my choice. And, since he parked in the parking garage in downtown Naperville, I just had to have Almond Joy ice cream from Cookie Dough Creations! (I'm seeing a coconut habit here.)

As we ate our quickly melting ice cream cones, we walked down the river walk, then found a bench to rest on as we people-watched. Eventually, we got up (I still had no idea what the next plan was.) and walked around some more - this time towards North Central's campus. Jason jokingly said, "We could go sit in the stadium and watch the field." I wasn't sure that would be interesting until we saw a sign on the riverwalk that said,

"Lifehouse tonight at 7."

What!?

He bought tickets to their concert.

I was surprised. Pleasantly.

We had an amazing time.
The sunset was beautiful and the music awesome.

It was a great birthday.
It'll go down in my book as one of the best.

Thanks, Jason.
