Here are this year's valentine's boxes the kids decorated and took to school. . . .
okay, okay, I helped a little.
Jaxon, in keeping with his personal tradition, didn't want anything "valentine-y" on his box, so we put away the hearts and red paper and went for a more "the week before Valentine's Day" theme. (Last year was a guitar with flames on it.)
Hopefully, you can tell that it's a helmet.
Kennedy brought the red and the hearts back out and did a fun, foofy box, which won a prize for being an original! Yay, Kennedy!
They took them took school earlier this week and brought them back today filled with valentine cards from their classmates - which they are still opening and enjoying, fruit snacks, and pencils, but absolutely NO candy - thanks to their school's strict healthy snack policy.
I can't help but remember being so excited in grade school to receive all of the valentines with special candy or, my favorite, the white and red lifesaver suckers. I'm sorry they won't experience that.
But, I d0 have a little something sweet safely tucked away for their Valentine's Day treat.
