going real

I have finished decorating, sort of. I still have to hang the greens on the stair railings, and, today, we are taking a roadtrip to a Christmas tree farm. But the rest of the house is decorated. Wahoo!

Yep, we are going real this year. We went real a couple of years ago, and the kids loved it so much that they've asked every year since to do it again. I have to admit, I loved it, too. I still remember heading out to the Christmas tree farm as a child with my family, taking what seemed hours to pick out the best tree. I, however, was always drawn to the Charlie Brown kind, feeling sorry for the poor ugly thing. My mom and dad wouldn't go for it, though.

I still picture my dad on the ground, sawing our beloved evergreen down.

Today, we are heading out in the snow (perfect!) to find our perfect Christmas tree.
