Follow my train:
In 75 years, I don't think anyone will even know who I was.
The raw reality is that each one of us only has a little bit of time on earth. You should enjoy it now, because you may not get a later.
I was thinking about how long we've been in our house (trying to justify repainting our walls) and realized that, it's been about 4 years since I've painted some of my walls. If I kept on the 4 year pattern and repainted them now, then repainted them in another four years, my daughter will be OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL!
I'm not sure if this is a "new year" thing or what, but it's kind of depressing. Ky is basically out the door. Okay, not really, but sort of. I know this time will go fast, so I want to take it all in. Attend every competition, listen to every story, take in every moment.
That's why I hung lights on the ceiling of her bedroom the other day. Technically, they're Christmas lights, but they are strung on a white cord, not a green one. I thought, "She's only this age once, and I'll only be able to have this much fun decorating her room for the next few years, so I want to make it super cool."
She loved it.
And, I love that she loved it.
