What's this?!

Oh, yes, I am.

I am hosting a small group in my home.

And, I am sooo glad I am.

I used to think that the reason I never did this before (like years before) was because I just didn't have the right house. Of course, I always loved our houses, I just never thought they were as good as others'. (Shallow, I know. I'm going somewhere here, really.)

I always had some excuse. Oh, my home is not big enough. Or new enough. Or cool enough.

Then we built this house, and I realized that each home we've ever had was a gift from God. A truly wonderful gift. And, our homes should have been used to reach out to others. I always thought that the reason I never did something like this was because we didn't have a new home. And, now we do. So, just why in the world haven't I opened my home up to something like this sooner?

Because it wasn't because of my home, it was because of me.

Me. Me. Me.

My home is an expression of who God created me to be. It is a place where I am free to be myself and try unique things. And, I knew that by inviting someone into my home, I was essentially inviting them into my heart. I was afraid that they wouldn't like my ideas or the way that I've decorated. And, that would've crushed me.

Thankfully, God is chiseling away at that mindset. He is working on me. And, I am allowing Him. I am inviting people in and taking a risk.

And, I really do enjoy it.
