Raising a boy is so much different than raising girls. There are some things that I've said to Jax that I have never said to my girls.
Me: "Did you brush your teeth, Jax?"
Jax: "Yep!"
Me: "Today, Jax? Have you brushed your teeth today?"
Jax: "No. I brushed them yesterday, though."
*****
"Jax, can you take this hot wheels to the basement?" (With my back turned, not even looking at him.) I continue, "And, don't ride it down the stairs, either!" I turn to look at Jaxon as he sighs and climbs off the hot wheels at the top of the stairs. Jason looks at me amazed I would even know what was going through Jaxon's head.
*****
"Jax, don't play in the toilet water." (Don't worry, that was about 7 years ago.)
*****
Me: "Jax, are you finished showering already?"
Jax: "Yep."
Me: "Did you use soap."
Jax: "Well, . . . no."
Me: "Jump back in and use soap this time."
Now I have signs in the kids' bathroom that say, "Use Soap."
*****
"Jax, you can't play in the tunnel under the driveway. It's not a hiding place."

I love the soap one. So typical of boys...I often find myself asking Grady the same thing, to which he replies, "Oh, I forgot!" I may have to put up a special sign just for him!
