It's August now and has been for weeks.

Well, it's not still Father's Day. Time has moved on. Life has happened and here I am facing the quickly approaching first day of school.

Let's do a quick catch-up of the summer.

1. We celebrated a Rite of Passage ceremony for Kylah. It was beautiful, and I am so glad we have made this new tradition.

2. We celebrated Jon's high school graduation. Then, we drove him up to Minnesota, on my birthday, to drop him off at school.

3. We vacationed in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was so fun. Probably more fun for us than for the kids, but still fun.

4. We have decided to go all out on the debt snowball. We started FPU in the van on the way out to Virginia. The first thing we did when we got home was cut up our credit cards. Even my Kohl's card. Especially my Kohl's card. The next day, I got a 30 percent off coupon to use at Kohl's .... when you use your Kohl's charge. Go figure.

5. Ky got a feather extension. Looks super cute, too. Thanks, Sarah. You rock!

6. Even though we arrived home from Virginia 2 weeks ago, I'm still in a vacation funk. I've yet to plan dinners, clean my room, and contact people. Sad. So sad.

7. School starts tomorrow for my West people. :( I don't like when school starts. I miss my family.
