So, when I was younger, and my dad would come to my school functions, my friends would always say how handsome he was. I would cringe and say, "ew, he's my dad." As we've been looking through pictures to make a photo collage for his visitation and funeral, I see how handsome he was. This is one of my favorite pictures of him. I just wish I knew why he went into a photo booth and had these taken! :)
This is our trademark picture...
My dad did something special at each of his daughter's weddings. He started with my oldest sister, Karen. He was worried that she wouldn't make it down the aisle without crying, so he decided to wear a pair of socks that matched the wedding. You must understand that my dad was a white sock man. He wore boots constantly, so his socks never showed. He had work boots and good boots. So, when he lifted his pant leg and showed my sister the aqua socks he was wearing before he walked her down the aisle, she couldn't help but smile. He continued the tradition with my other sister, Becky, by flashing a pair of pink socks at her before he took her down the aisle. And, to this day, I treasure the framed pair (yes, he framed the socks for me...) of teal socks he wore for my wedding. My dad was cool like that.

I enjoyed reading this blog and looking at the pictures. What special memories. When are the funeral services? I pray that God comforts your heart and spirit during this time.
BTW, I had never seen your hair that long! Wow! Isn't it crazy how outdated looking our wedding pictures are already?
He was a very handsome man, Dana! And the story about the socks just shows what a great dad he was. You are blessed to have grown up with him for your dad!
Thinking about you and praying for you!
